Anyone know when we might get a map update for the Ariya? I believe the navigation system uses TomTom maps, but the data is pretty outdated in my area. I’m in northern VA, and I’ve run into several issues, like being directed to closed locations or taking strange detours instead of obvious turns.

Has anyone heard if Nissan plans to release regular updates, or if there’s a way to manually update the maps? For example, the nav once told me to pass by a clear right turn, drive a mile, and then make a U-turn to come back to the original turn. It’s frustrating, especially in areas where road changes happen frequently.

Yeah, outdated maps are frustrating! For now, I’ve been using my phone’s navigation as a backup, especially when the Ariya tries to take me on detours. Until we get an official update, having a second navigation option is helpful, especially in areas with frequent changes. You’re right about TomTom being used for the maps, so hopefully, Nissan has an update planned soon. It’d be great if they made manual updates available to us! Maybe there's a software update through cable?

I have a 2021 Leaf and a 2019 Rogue and both have the ability to update the maps from right in the car. Does Nissan not have that feature on the Aryia? I am looking at buying an Aryia.

I’ve lived in my house for 5 years, had my Ariya for 15 months, and yet my street, one that’s been around forever is still missing from the map. Ridiculous

The maps are awful (TomTom maps) and the updates are non existent and the charge point locations and information is dangerously out of date however the navigation algorithm is really good

Running the same route via Google maps and the Aryia navigation there was a near 20% difference in battery used and using the Aryia navigation you get the instructions, arrows and information in the heads up display so the system is really good it's just the supplied maps that let the system down

For me I use ABRO (inked to my Aryia) which recommends where to charge (speed v time and facilities) but ARBP routing is also awful so I use the stops in Waze via android auto

I wish you could get Waze, Google maps etc directions in the heads up display

Anyone know when the Ariya will get a map updat? The TomTom maps are outdated in my area, and I’ve had issues with odd detours and closed roads. Is there a way to manually update, or does Nissan plan to release regular updaets? It’s frustrating when road changes aren’t reflected.

I just took delivery of my new Ariya, so I will have to check into how to update the map info. Hope it
is the same as my 2021 Leaf which was just done from the car.

Map updates for the Ariya are typically delivered through the infotainment system, though there’s no set schedule. You can check for updates via the system or Nissan’s website. If available, manual updates through USB may also be an option. Regular updates would be ideal, especially in areas with frequent road changes.
