With Kia and Hyundai getting cozy with superchargers and NACS this year, I thought I’d give the Simcoe (ON) Supercharger a whirl. Well, that didn’t go as planned. The cable’s too short to reach the port, and you’ve got to park half on the curb to make it work. Ford and Rivian owners aren’t faring any better at some stations either. If Tesla ever opens up to Nissan and the gang, they really need to upgrade those cables. They teased an extension cable, but with the price and the hassle of storing it, I’m not sold. And here’s the kicker, Tesla suggests Ford and Rivian owners double-park just to get a charge. Genius, right?

That short cable issue is a design fail, plain and simple. It's ridiculous that you have to contort your car or park half on the curb just to plug in. And Tesla suggesting double parking is seriously just asking for trouble and bad press. They absolutely need to rethink their charging cable situation if they want other EV brands to use their network. A longer cable or a more flexible mounting system is a must. That teased extension cable is a band-aid solution, and like you said, the price and hassle aren't worth it. Hopefully, Tesla gets the message and addresses this soon, because right now, it's a frustrating experience for non-Tesla owners.

That's a major design flaw! I've been concerned about the adaptability of the supercharger network. The cable length issue alone is a huge problem. Tesla really needs to address that, and quickly. I'd suggest providng feedback to Tesla directly, and maybe even sharing your expereince on social media. The more people complain, the more likely they are to take action. I've learned that public feedback can drive change

What a total mess! Who in their right mind thought a tiny cable was a good idea? Watching people basically curb-jumping just to charge is nuts. Tesla seriously needs to fix this before more cars flood the network, ‘cause right now, it’s a total disaster.
