I wanted to revisit the ongoing Bose subwoofer issue because I’ve done some digging and found more evidence suggesting the subwoofer in my Ariya Platinum+ isn’t functioning as it should. Here’s what I’ve uncovered:
Original Installation: When I checked the subwoofer, I noticed the “arrow” on the unit seemed to indicate the orientation for installation. However, in this position, the sound outlet is blocked by a foam insert, and the sound channel doesn’t align properly. The channel itself dead-ends into the foam, which seems like a major design flaw.
Adjusted Orientation: I rotated the subwoofer so the sound outlet faces the sound channel, and while this alignment makes more sense acoustically, the wiring harness doesn’t reach the socket anymore. Even if it did, the sound channel still doesn’t lead anywhere meaningful.
This setup makes me wonder if there was an error during the assembly process, possibly involving the foam insert or the harness length. Considering this was part of the Bose upgrade, which I assume added several hundred dollars to the package cost, it’s disappointing to see these potential oversights.
I’d like to understand why this issue exists and whether Nissan plans to address it.
